The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our expanding team. Working in collaboration with your bioinformatics, functional genomics, and drug discovery colleagues, you will develop and deploy novel machine learning approaches to predict, from DNA sequence and structure, various aspects of gene regulation and function. These developments will contribute to our internal and partnered drug discovery programs. In addition, your work will contribute to the expansion of our unique platform aimed at understanding the mechanisms of human disease and driving therapeutic development.

What we are looking for

Essential experience/skills
  • PhD in computer science, statistics, data science, or related discipline.
  • Extensive practical experience in the application of machine learning to problems from structural biology, gene regulation, or functional genomics.
  • Strong programming skills in Python as well as extensive experience with modern machine learning frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Flexible and co-operative approach to colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; as well as the ability to prioritize and balance competing demands.
  • A positive “can-do” and result oriented attitude, with openness to new ideas, and the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.
Desirable
  • Drug discovery industry experience in the biotech or pharma.
  • Experience in cloud computing.
