COMPENSATION: Competitive with share options available

LOCATION: The Schrodinger Building, Oxford Science Park, Oxford

HOURS: Full-time

CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent

NUCLEOME THERAPEUTICS, a fast-emerging biopharma that is building a passionate, creative, and dedicated multi-disciplinary team of scientists with expertise in gene regulation, genomics, machine learning, drug discovery, data analysis and software development, whose mission is to decode and mine the regulatory “dark matter” of the human genome to transform drug target discovery and deliver first-in-class precision medicine for autoimmune diseases. We are building a rewarding and fun environment where people embrace creative ways of thinking, take smart risks, and feel empowered to make a difference.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Team Lead with expertise in Genomics Assay Development, a self-starter, who would thrive in the dynamic environment of a growing biotechnology company. The position has a strong focus on team management and leadership, and the successful candidate will be responsible for development and implementation of state-of-the-art genomics techniques, including NGS and other Omics techniques. You will use your extensive experience in people management to build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of scientists with expertise in genomic. You will manage all aspects of their performance management, objective setting, recruitment, and career development; as well as inspire and motivate them to excel. In your genomics assay development function, you will lead the design and implementation of new, cutting-edge genomics technologies in the field of 3D genomics, DNA, RNA, open chromatin, and epigenetics. Working within matrix team you will provide expertise, team leadership and support into discovery and validation of novel therapeutic targets and cell type mapping efforts. You will play a role in our interactions with both Industry Partners and Contract Research Organisations, and a role model to scientists within the team and across the company, motivating team members to realise their full potential. As an independent thinker you will plan and implement experiments, interpret the data, and distil complexity into concise communication. Working in a rapidly growing company, you’ll need a flexible mindset, with the ability to continually adapt to new challenges. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team and closely collaborate with computational and drug-discovery scientists to guide drug target discovery efforts. You will have an integral role in the venture, take ownership of the work and demonstrate an exceptional work ethic towards discovering breakthrough medicines that will improve patients’ lives.
